Desert Sled Alloy Rear Mudguard/Fender
When building a desert sled the idea is to remove all the heavy stock parts and replace them with as many light weight parts as possible!
Something we get asked for a lot is alloy rear mudguards or if your in the states alloy rear fenders. When building our “955” and “502” McQueen replicas we used this very nice light weight alloy rear mudguard.
These are a universal fit and come un-drilled.
Approximate length of mudguard: 42 ½”
Wide section: 5 ½ “
Beaded edge on the rear of the mudguard
The mudguard comes polished but if you wanted to give it an older look this can be achieved with a scotch bright pad until you have the finish you want.
When we have used these mudguards on our bikes we tend to paint the rear of the mudguard black and add white stick on number plate letters. This saves fitting a large standard type rear number plate. (please bear in mind this might not be road legal).
